Our “Guess who’s coming to dinner” Dinner on 29th June is now over and what a wonderful evening we had. Four delicious choices from the 4-course menu were offered and the evening meal was finished with tea or coffee and chocolates.
Several quizzes were entered into throughout the evening and cheerful rivalry
between tables kept us on our toes. Three mystery guests were introduced to us with clues as to their identity, giving opportunities to make a written guess as to who they were. Later, more clues were added until at the end of the evening each character was revealed.
King Saul, first king of Israel was one guest. Naomi, mother-in-law of Ruth was another and Simon Peter, a disciple of Jesus, was our final guest. These Bible
characters were represented by Luke, Elaine and Rex and we thank them for taking part and playing it so well. You can read the stories about these three guests further in the Holy Bible in:
- King Saul in 1st Samuel (majority of records in this book)
- Naomi in Ruth 1:2 to 4:17
- Simon Peter (Peter is mentioned in all 4 gospels and in Acts. He also wrote 1&2 Peter).
Congratulations to the winners who correctly identified the Biblical guests in the shortest time during the evening.
